Why did we start this?
We started our business in St. Charles in November 2014. It was important to us to make sure we gave back to our community. We are parents to two wonderful Wild Rose children. In Dec 2014, we decided to reach out to our school’s social worker to see if there was a need that Christmas. That’s where this all started, with a few families with a need at our own school. In 2015 we added the wrapping party in addition to the sponsorship program. It was a way for people to come together and enjoy the Christmas spirit…to donate time, even if they didn’t have the means to sponsor a child. It was a way to get families involved and a great way to teach the next generation about giving back. Our own children ages 10 & 7 help us out by sorting out and logging in the children’s gifts as they come in. Our 7 year old daughter loves to wrap and is often seen joining in at different tables making new friends and wrapping with them.
It has grown so much that in 2017 we were able to get 197 District 303 elementary school children sponsored and had over 350 people come out to wrap the gifts at the wrapping party! So many local business help out by donating food, drinks and wrapping paper. We are so fortunate to live in such a wonderful, giving community.
