Everyone has heard the term “blown gasket” before. Well, we fix those. The gasket is a seal between two part inside your vehicle’s engine. It is not uncommon for these seals to fail after a while. Unlike alignment or steering failure, blown gaskets can be a bit harder to detect while driving.
There are a few ways to tell if a gasket is blown. Check for fluid leaking from the bottom of your vehicle. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have a blown gasket but a blown gasket can cause a fluid leak. Other indicators are white smoke coming out of your exhaust pipe or your engine quickly overheating.
A blown gasket is not going to cripple your vehicle from driving but it will lead to other engine components to fail if left unchecked. If you think you may be experiencing gasket issues in your car, bring it by the Excel Automotive Repair shop and we will take a look.
